Pioneer Peers represent the ideals and mission of the college in behavior and spirit. Pioneer Peers serve as peer leaders for new students through SMC's Summer Orientation program, Pioneer Power Up, and in each section of SMC 101, SMC's Freshman Year Experience class.
The Iowa State University Event Management Club has elected officers for the 2015-16 school year. The club is for students interested in learning more about the field of event management. Event management is a major in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University.

Wofford's Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike. Students may choose from a variety of on-campus courses, professional internships and research projects, study abroad opportunities or their own independent study project, approved and guided by a faculty advisor. More than 200 students chose to study abroad during Interim 2017.
On April 4, 2017, 18 Spartanburg Methodist College students were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the national scholastic honor society for students at two-year colleges. Membership in Phi Theta Kappa requires an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher with a minimum of 16 academic hours. Students must be of good moral character and possess recognized good qualities of citizenship.
Study abroad is a major component of Wofford's commitment to shaping globally connected citizens. Opportunities range from travel/study Interim projects to a full-year at a university abroad. Students may choose from more than 200 programs and 59 countries. Co-curricular opportunities include service learning, internships and cultural excursions.
The University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation awarded scholarships totaling more than $100,000 to 125 students during the 2016-2017 academic year.
Ninety percent of Wofford's enrolled students receive approximately $32 million in scholarships, grants and loans each year. Each of the endowed scholarship funds requires that recipients demonstrate outstanding character, academic achievement, and potential for contribution to society; some have additional requirements for eligibility.
From as close as Wofford College's Admission Office to as far away as India, China and England, with assignments as diverse as scientific, robotics and medical research to banking, sales and marketing to volunteer services and conservation preservation, more than 50 Wofford students and recent graduates are gaining valuable experiences this summer through a variety of internships.
The University of South Carolina Upstate Shoestring Players will perform "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Christopher Sergel in the Humanities and Performing Arts Center. Performances will be held at 8 p.m. Oct. 2-4 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 5.
Orientation Leaders are a dedicated group of undergraduate leaders who assist with implementing orientation programs during the summer and fall. Orientation Leaders serve as guides for new students, who are making the transition from their previous environment to the diverse academic, intellectual and social culture of the University of South Carolina Upstate.
